Hot days, quiet nights

Watching beautiful wildlife continues to be one of the best parts of living at the lake full time. There are always lots of eagles but we have been priviledged to have a nesting pair of loons this year. I have heard some pretty mornful calls during the day lately and I hope the the eagle has not gotten the baby loon.

I saw the mother and baby loon several times this past weekend -- not very shy around several boats that were passing them. Each time the mother loon let out a call, we glanced skyward and were sure to see an eagle or two nearby.
