Changes along Baker Road

Spiffy new looks.

Many changes have occurred along Baker Road. Among them are new siding, decks, a bit of new landscaping and property clean up. The biggest change has been the removal of a trailer, barn, outbuildings and beautifying several acres. Thank you Neil.

Rest well, fireworks man.

Many of us for years have enjoyed the abundance of fireworks that were done on the east side of the narrows. God took our fireworks man home last week. Our condolences to Char and the entire family. Donations are being requested to do a tribute fireworks display this year. Money may be sent to Jim Maxwell or Ford Elliot who are the neighbors on either side.

Geese

They are lovely to look at while swimming on the lake but how do we keep them off our beaches? They do make such a mess on shore.
My neighbor, Gordy, has an old cow bell that he rings from on the deck that seems to send the geese away from the shore. All I have to say to my dog, Kody, is "the geese are here" and he runs barking down to the dock. He makes a good goose guard dog.

Kody, keeping the geese away.

God bless Dick and Char

These flowers are blooming as Dick's health is failing. He had a high temp and his family was called to be with him. May God give you peace during this difficult time. (Richard & Charlene Dunst, 2037 Richardson Ct)

Windy day

Winds dropped a tree across Richardson Court.
Garage sale and new horseshoe driveway off Baker Road
Garage sale off Baker Road across from public access.
Friday, June 6 was really windy. Many folks were trying to get their things together for the 1st annual Blake Lake garage sale East and West. Harvey was unable to unload because of the strong winds. I am glad that I had coffee with Ford and Joanne for a long time because the road needed to be cleared via chainsaw. Thanks to whomever cut the way open on Richardson Court.

Harvey the harvester

Our weed harvester has been busy during the morning hour. The lake has been calm this week providing the best conditions to run the harvester. I wish now that I had grabbed my camera and headed down to the dock. It would have been a good start to what I hope will become a news and happenings exchange blog for the people around Blake Lake. So send me your news _ grustad@lakeland.ws and add comments directly to the blog. I can add others to the author list so that they can post directly. Hopefully those like Ford, and Judy E will help me out with the posts to keep everyone informed.

Memorial Weekend

Summer was officially opened and many people arrived to enjoy the holiday weekend. Although the sun made itself scarce, there were a lot of kids young and old playing in and on the lake.
